Lyrics
Yesterday I met your family,
Adam and the ones you didn't see,
I recall your poem from '43,
Filled with Hope.
"Your body and soul so lovely,
My companion in misery,
Even through the tears shed secretly
I'm full of Hope."
Honour to the man who forged me a passport,
Taking mortal risk ... identity renewed.
If there is a God, I pray he protect him,
Great honour to you.
And honour to the girl
Who heard me sleep talking,
Using Jewish words but said nothing though she knew.
If there is a God, I pray he protect her.
Great honour to you.
I forgive the ones who hated us,
It had always been like this
and I forgive the ones who murdered us
I forgive, I forgive.
Honour to the boy who when I was hiding
Distracted the dogs for a pair of shoes.
If there is a God I pray he protect him
Great honour to you.
And honour to my friend and my protector,
She who kept us safe, who told us what to do.
If there is a God, I know you are with him.
Great, great honour to you.
