Story Behind The Song
I came across this mandolin part while performing it with a harsichordist at a Beethoven festival here in Melbourne. The actual piece, with the harpsichord melody, sounds like a victorious march but I have taken the accompaniment, written a gentle melodic line and used strings and piano for a peaceful, pastoral feel.
Song Description
Peaceful pastoral which uses the mandolin accompaniment line from a Beethoven variation (originally written for mandolin & harsichord, the original mandolin line is evocative of Bach and virtually hidden by the harsichord melody). Ruth Roshan has created a new melodic line and harmonies and completely changed the overall feel of the piece.
