Long Description of Song
A simple song, with a powerful message. The first verse starts from one person's persepective, where they feel cold, alone, isolated...'drowning' imagery. The second verse is from the perspective of someone who cares for them/loves them and wants to pull them out of their malaise, save them from themselves, into a 'brighter day' as it were - into the sunshine, the sun on their back etc - offering support, but also asking the first person to look inside themselves for the answer 'deep in their soul'.
Story Behind the Song
The music came first, and suggested the lyrical content, in that the melody is very 'reflective' with a lot of space for thought. I wanted to get across the feeling of being 'down' in the first verse, and then'lifted up' in the second, so first verse kept very simple; second verse more colour to the sound - fuller, brighter to back up the imagery.
