One day when a friend had hurt you, as a child he didn't understand why
As the tears came, he learned sometimes things hurt and it' ok to cry
You didn't think he was looking when you gave to someone in need
He was learning from you that it's more blessed to give than to receive

She was looking when you put her first painting on the refrigerator door
She instantly knew from your smile she only wanted to paint more
As you knelt to pray you thought her eyes were just roaming around the room
But she was finding help she needed from someone bigger than you
