Lyrics

Dear God, help me through this tragedy
Dear God, help me to be strong
Dear God, help me through this loneliness
Dear God

Your the only one who can help me
Your the only one I know
Your the only one who can help me out
No matter where I go

Dear God, help me get through this emptiness
Dear God

I picked up her worn out bible
And I treasure it now
I threw away the whiskey
Cause it only brings me down

Dear God, help me through this loneliness
Dear God, I'm praying for Your help
Dear God, help me through this tragedy
Dear God, help me through this tragedy
Dear God

reminds me of U2.

needs better drums

Not a bad song minus the recording.

Great Lyrics, Good music.

I enjoyed this song. It is from an era a little after my time, but close enough to my age that I listened to this style. You can't really label this song in the sense of the era it really belongs to. A good song is a good song and that's what this is. Loved the flow, vocal and instrumentation. Adding this fine tune to my playlist.

This song is a prayer, a plea for help from God to "help me through this tragedy." A stream of consciousness song with a nice rock band instrumentation. Favorite lyric: The part about picking up the Bible and throwing away the whiskey. Everyone at some time experiences the loneliness and emptiness of which the songwriter sings. I like the gradual outro...nicely done.

Not a lot to say here. I was too distracted with the lack of timing. Add some bass drum in to help out with that maybe. Tune also needs a hook.

The song in itself is ok, because Randal is a good songwriter. The arrangement/instrumentation is a bit of a mess, though. Anyway, reminds a bit of U2, and there's a growing tension and intensity.

I Can see where you were trying to go with this song the melody is great

Wow - not happening for the listen here on this record - not in synchronized and hard to follow - God bless you my brother, I can only say keep writing and practicing on your timing and mixing....

oh for sure you are getting stronger all the time. like the chord progression too! reminds me of the BYRDS back in the 60's!
