Story Behind The Song

A father's love runs deeply but, in many cultures, it is not expressed as freely as is a mother's love and so can be seen as secondary. Despite its constant demands and the inevitable pain of letting go, fatherhood (and parenthood generally) is amazingly fulfilling. This song is based on my own experience of fatherhood and expresses the love I feel for my children. It recalls the joys of watching my children grow and mature and the admiration I feel for who they've become and what they've achieved as mature adults. My wife and I consider our lives to have been blessed by our three wonderful children.
