Story Behind The Song
see long description.
Song Description
A failed relationship causes the writer to examine his life and ponder the realization that things don't always work like they do in the movies. The bridge offers a ray of hope in that things are going to be ok in the end. There are references to "Sleepless in Seattle" and "You've got Mail", both of which do have the classic "Hollywood Ending" to the story.

Lyrics
Hollywood Ending
Lyrics and Music by Pete Masitti
The 11th hour's come and gone
The hangman's sitting right outside my door
I didn't think it would end this way
There's no pages left to turn back anymore
My life keeps playing before my eyes
And I'm not quite sure I like what I see
I've made my fair share of bad mistakes
But I always thought that it would all work out
I was so naive...
Cause there's no Hollywood ending
There's no last second play
That stuff only happens in the movies
At least I know it didin't work out that for me
My throat's just a little dry
From choking back the tears I never cried
The verdict is in, the judge made sure
That love doesn't live here anymore
My life keeps playing before my eyes
And I'm not quite sure I like what I see
I've made my fair share of bad mistakes
But I always thought that it would all work out
I was so naive...
Cause there's no Hollywood ending
There's no last second play
That stuff only happens in the movies
At least I know it didin't work out that for me
What am I supposed to do
I keep trying to tell myself everything is going to be allright
I bleed a little more each day
But I know deep inside, I'm gonna find my way
Cause there's no Hollywood ending
There's no last second play
That stuff only happens in the movies
There's one thing I know
There's no "Sleepless in Seattle"
There's no "You've got mail" for me
That stuff only happens in the movies
At least I know...
It didn't work out that way for me
