Story Behind The Song
I was honored to be able to assist in the Twin Cities Honor Flight in Oct. 2012. This was a paid trip for WWII vets to Washington DC and get the recognition and celebration they never received. It was amazingly inspirational to me to be able to talk with them and hear their stories. This song describes that day.

Lyrics
They came from towns, across this land.
One last trip, one last stand.
Most could walk, some could not.
But we got'em there, so they won't be forgot.
In '44 most were 18,
Willing and able, but still pretty green.
They took the call to fight over there,
Now it's our turn, to show them we care.
Flight for honor. One last time.
Few more hours to stand in line.
One more honor to receive from their country.
They talked of war and battles they'd been in,
From Normandy to Berlin to the fields of Tianjin.
In bodies worn from age, but eyes still so clear,
Brave tears still flowed, remembering those years.
Standing at the monuments, saluting straight once more,
Bronze and granite memories of those who went before.
When the time had come, to fly on home again,
They knew that what they did back then, made a difference.
Flight for honor. One last time.
Few more hours to stand in line.
One more honor to receive from their country.
The crowd back home, cheered with delight.
After all these years, we got it right.
