she slipped in through an open door one icy winter's day
lost and sad and so forlorn kitten tears ran down her face
and she was oh so beautiful but shivering and cold
a haunting look I still recall reached into my soul

I couldn't help but love her and she stayed and she loved me
on winter's frigid darkened days she warmed me up completely
we'd lay down by the fire at night and , I'd hold her til the morning
But when spring came she left one day , gone without a warning
