Story Behind The Song
I came up with the opening riff and it sounded so southern. I wrote the song about a man that loved his wife and would do anything for her, even when the town knew she was cheating. He never listened to the gossip but when he caught her red-handed he set fire to her and her lover in a hotel bed.
Song Description
Johnny Wade loved his undeserving, rude wife no questions asked, until he found her with a man from New Orleans.

Lyrics
The Tale of Johnny Wade by Micheal Lee Collins
© 2009 All Rights Reserved
Johnny Wade was from way down in Southern Louisiana
yea they said that his wife she was made of gold
he made his way from Atlanta
they said she just grew up cold
well he stood beside her no matter what they said
they cursed her for the way that she treated him
one night she made the biggest mistake
she was caught red handed with a man from New Orleans
one night he caught 'em in bed
he duct taped their lips and their legs
he said they told me so
so now both of you got to go
right before that match made a flame
he filled that bed with gasoline
