Story Behind The Song
Whenever I pass a field and see the sight of a herd of cattle grazing contentedly, I think of this phrase. And so I wrote this song.

Lyrics
Cattle on a thousand hills Is a picture of plenty and of peace
Cattle on a thousand hills Is a picture of good He's done for me
So with banjo pickin' and the bow a lickin'
The strings to a fiddle-dee-dee
I'll thank the Lord for the blessing of life
And as far as I can see
The bad's been less
Than I'd have guessed
And the good's been better still
I'll praise His name and bless the same For the cattle on a thousand hills
