Story Behind The Song
Inspired by hard hitting psychedelic rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Cream, "Love Is Free" was an effort to re-capture that energy and attitude through catchy guitar riffs and a pounding rhythm section. As with most of Matthew C. Bauder's songs it all started with the simple guitar riff that fuels the verses and grew from there. Lyrics were later added and the full vocal version became the second track on Alien Mustache's(Matthew C. Bauder's sometimes used alias)third self released album, Magnitude which was remastered and re-released in 2020.
