Lyrics

"Now You're Free"
Words & Music by Margie & Art Corey/BMI Copyright 2015 (c)

Oooooooooo Yeah........

1st Verse
I live in a little tin trailer
With a black and white T.V.
A half an hour from nowhere
Just my two cats and me..................

Chorus
Free.......she said to me
Free.......now you're free

2nd Verse
I used to live in a big house
My dogs were pedigree
But my ex took me for all I had
And then she set me free...............
Then she set me free..........

Chorus
Free.......she said to me
Free.......now you're free

Bridge
Don't you shed a tear for me
Just bought a shack down by the sea
And when I get there, I'll be where I'll be........
Happy and free................

3rd Verse
Now my cats don't care what I wear
There's no afternoon high tea
Just give me a can of ice cold beer
Yeah, you get just what you see............

She's gone, let's party.....................

Liked the instrumentation and mix.

Cool funky track. Nice sax playing.

Love your very cleaver lyrical writing, love the overall vibe of the music. Awesome job!

This reminds me a bit of 80's era Talking Heads, groove/funk with multiple influences. Cool groove and interesting evocative lyrics, excellent use of wah guitar.

I think this song plays well in an urban market. The drums/bass drip with funk. The sax is sinewy and mixed just behind the vocal. I like the language this cat uses. The vocalist is excellent, perfect for the group. Sings with confidence, sort of reminds me of the music Chaka Khan/EW&F.

Nice fancy sounds. Good arrangement of parts, the second verse comes in the perfect spot. Great space in the song right before the second verse, set it up beautifully!! I enjoyed some of the synth elements panned mostly to the right. Sax is nice in the intro. Some nice Rhodes playing in this song. I like the conga looks, good use of minimal percussion!! It was not cluttered, just right, helped me to hear your message. Very nice ideas in this song, I felt like you got your message across.

This song is really different. It's hard to classify, from the electronic rhythm section to the jazzy sax and Frank Zappa sounding vocals. I like original stuff, so this is a plus in my opinion, but it might be hard to market.

this is an interesting story. about being set free. free. free. i get that, since we are all imprisoned by something. good theme, one that everyone should think about on a regular basis
