Story Behind The Song
This song is an arrangement of Pachelbel?s Canon. Its delicate, flowing melody evokes an image of a field of beautiful wildflowers in bloom. The Lady Bird Johnson Park is located along the Potomac Heritage trail. When Lady Bird Johnson was only 5 years old her mother died. One of Lady Bird?s last memories of her mother was associated with flowers and because of this flowers became a symbol for Lady Bird of her mother. Lady Bird became known as our ?Environmental First Lady? and spent many years involved in environmental activism and in the effort of creating and dedicating several wildflower parks.
