Lyrics
True Blue Ribbon Country
By Linda Pendley/BMI/copyright 2004
My daddy runs a pig farm and my mamma has a coup
My gran-pa grew tomatoes, Grand-ma made her chicken soup
Like my biscuits doused with gravy and my eggs turned over light
I like to do the two step in the sultry summer night
In case you might not understand exactly what that means
It means I'm True Blue Ribbon Country from my red-neck to my jeans
(Chorus)
True Blue Ribbon,
Nothing beats this life I'm living
My muddy boots are on the front porch and the front porch has a swing.
I'm True blue-ribbon country from my red-neck to my jeans
I work just like my mama does,
From Sun-up to sundown
I take care of my family,
I till a piece of ground,
I learned early that just what I sow is what I'll reap
And nothing in life is free and freedom don't come cheap.
I'll fly Ol' Glory high and route for my old highschool team
Im true blue ribbon country from my redneck to my jeans
(Chorus)
True Blue Ribbon
Nothin beats this life I'm livin.
My muddy boots are on the front porch
And The front porch has a swing
I'm true Blue Ribbon country from my red-neck to my jeans
(Vamp)
True Blue Ribbon
True Blue Ribbon
My muddy boots are on the front porch
And The front porch has a swing
And I?m true Blue Ribbon country from my red-neck to my jeans.
Sometimes I wear my Daisy Dukes to the laundry-mat
I fry my Sunday chicken in a pan of greasy fat
I have dirt between my toes cause shoes get in the way
I have pride in how I live
Believe me when I say
If someone tries to shut me up
You're gonna hear me scream
I'm true Blue Ribbon country from my red-neck to my jeans!
(chorus to ending)
(Ending)
I grew up on cornbread with a bowl of pinto beans,
I'm True Blue Ribbon Country
True Blue Ribbon Country
I'm true Blue Ribbon country from my red-neck to my jeans!
