A Soft Place to Fall

Story Behind The Song

My sister miscarried a baby. Then a few years later her daughter almost died from bacterial pneumonia. I asked her how she made it through those times without going nuts. She said that she literally would fall back into her chair and say "Jesus I Trust you." She said that she could feel his love envelop her and that he was her "Soft Place to Fall."

Lyrics

I come to you right now, O Lord, just as I am
And I know you understand
I kneel before you now a hurt and broken man
But you're my rock in all this sinking sand

I'm here in your arms
Fed by your own hand and

Jesus, I trust you with my life.
My dreams are in your hands
My darkest days my deepest nights
every breath I breath belongs to you
you gave your everything
you gave your all
so in times like these I'd have a soft place to fall

v2
I thought the wilderness would only be cold and dark but it's not
Its hot and hard like stone
in this place you brought me to its hard to stand
but its your plan and I know i'm not alone

I'm here in your arms
fed by your own hand and

Jesus I trust you with my life
My dreams are in your hands
My darkest days my deepest nights
every breath I breath belongs to you
You gave your everything
you gave your all
so in times like these I'd have a soft place to fall.

Now I know that an overcomer overcomes
and how a victor only wins 'cause there are battles
And when the night is dark and the storm comes raging in
I have learned the one thing that matters . . .

Jesus, i trust you with my life
My dreams are in your hand
my darkest days my deepest nights
every breath i breathe belongs to you
you gave your everything
you gave your all
so in times like these I'd have a soft place to fall.
