Story Behind The Song
I sat down to write a song that I had an idea for. I wrote a few lines and then the words wre given to me as if I was suppose to wrote this story. It's as if the words were just handed to me from above.
Song Description
The old farmer kneels at his wife's grave, hesitant and not knowing what to say. He gets choked up and finally begins to speak. He talks about how he misses her and how he's so grateful to have had her as his wife. He talks about when a child of theirs was born and a calf that almost died. He also tells her he received a letter from some relatives who wished they could have been there for the funeral, but ill health prevented them from coming. He mentions that it's been really dry and how they are desperate for rain for the crops to grow. At the end he says it looks like it's going to rain so he has to go, but he'll be back in a day or so and that he loves her.
