Lyrics
ELIZABETH'S MESSAGE
One night, I ran into my friend, Elizabeth, and suddenly she started to cry. She told me her daughter was losing her hold - her tenuous hold on her life.
Embracing my friend, with an ache in my heart - no words of comfort to say. I whis-pered, "I'll be with you - I'll do anything." Feeling her tears, she was miles away.
We must win this battle, we must win this war, so that nobody's child has to die.
This was Elizabeth's message, yes this was her plea - let us fight for the life of the child.
I thought about my son, and I marveled at him, knowing I'm so lucky to be the mother of someone so wondrous and bright. But then, "What if the sick one were he?"
We must win this battle, we must win this war,so that nobody's child has to die.
This was Elizabeth's message, yes this was her plea, let us fight for the life of the child.
The struggle didn't end there-
her daughter was so brave.
Her courage was not to be believed. She smiled through her heartache and smiled through her pain. She knew they'd see each other again!
We must win this battle, we must win this war, so that nobody's child has to die. We are singing her message, we are singing her plea - let us fight for the life of the child!
This was Elizabeth's message, yes this was her plea. Let us fight for the life of the child!
