Story Behind The Song
We all run from something at some point in our lives. Sometimes there are ghosts we run from that we don't realize until years later. As a Navy Veteran I can tell you we lost many good men and women in the Global War on Terrorism. I hope we never forget their sacrifice!

Lyrics
Up in the morning with the rising sun
Just trying to do what needs to be done.
Hoping we can get it just right
Praying we can make till tonight
No one undertands - no one at all.
Unless they've tread these hallowed halls.
Shut the door no one can see,
Unless its one of three.
Chorus
Freedom always comes with a cost.
Remember them all especially the lost.
We're all in a hurry to be gone
Running from the ghost of John Paul Jones
On the sea wall over looking the bay.
The future feels so far away.
Put the pedal down, never looking back.
Hoping our wheels stay on the track.
Chorus
Names engraved on granite blocks.
Gotta wonder when its gonna stop.
No body knows but time will tell.
We only get to heaven if we fight like hell.
Chorus
Chorus 2:
Memories come and memories fade
Singing blue and gold and Amazing Grace
Our time has come and now it's gone,
We're still running from the ghost of John Paul Jones.
