Story Behind The Song
Rarely do my songs have a story behind them. I write songs. I sit around with my guitar or keyboard and just play and babble away until something interesting shows up.Then I step into character of the idea and complete the song. I tell myself from time to time that I should concoct a story as folks seem to want one. That, however, would not be truthful; although I don't suppose it would do harm. As example I wrote a song re coal mining that is, if I do say so myself is excellent, (Nearly a quarter million viewings on You Tube) and have never been near a coal mine nor know anyone who has.
Song Description
It's a kind of happy song in delivery about the future... the singers funeral. Probably sung to a lover or ? asking a variety of questions of what degree they will participate in the singers funeral. Rather clever it seems to me. But then, why wouldn't it?

Lyrics
Will You Come To My Funeral
Will you come to my funeral
Will you be there when they bury me?
Place flowers upon my grave
Will I live in your memory
Will you speak at my funeral
Would you deliver the eulogy
You've always had such a way with words
You've always had such a way with me.
Flowers and prose that's how it goes
Everyone dressed in black
Lookin' so sad Feelin' real bad
That I'm gone and I'm not comin' back
Will you sing at my funeral
You could sing me our favorite song
I would like it so very much
Everybody could sing along
Repeat Vocal Bridge
So won't you come to my funeral
Just to show me that you still care.
It just wouldn't be the same for me
Darlin' if you're weren't there
