Story Behind The Song
The song just showed up one day when I was messin' around in the key of Am. Originally, the title was Pale Face Stranger. I recalled at some point, while doing test recording, that Clint Eastwood had made a movie called "Pale Rider". I checked out the film and saw it referenced "The Pale Horse Rider", one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse... Death rides a pale horse. Pale Face Stranger, has the same number of syllables as Pale Horse Rider... there you have it.

Lyrics
Best beware the Pale Horse Rider
No one yet has beat his draw
He Leads a life of constant danger
For he lives outside the law
Trouble seems to always find him
He won't run that's not his way
He won't back down that Pale Horse Rider
And a price someone will pay
So beware the Pale Horse Rider
No one yet has beat his draw
He Leads a life of constant danger
For he lives outside the law
Don't push your luck don't think you're golden
Cause you're holdin' aces high
If you should call instead of foldin'
Guarantee you're gonna to die
