Story Behind The Song
Long distance love.
Song Description
While watching a 1940's movie the line came to me. "They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. How fond can this heart grow ... I wonder." The tune and words I heard in my head came out as a fun 1940's love song. ... perhaps because I was watching that nostalgic movie.

Lyrics
Baby Come Home © 2011 Janet Steely
VERSE 1:
There's a chill in the air, But the sun is warm on my skin
As I sit by the window watching children play
I'm like a cat layin' in / the sunny windowsill / on a clear autumn day.
And I'm Wishin' you were here / and not so very far away.
Baby, Come Home!
Chorus:
They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder.
How fond can this heart grow ... I wonder
Don't want to find out ... Baby ..... come home.
VERSE 2:
I took a walk in the park. Thought of you each step of the way.
Thinkin' of your kisses and the taste of your skin
NO, It's no use tryin' to / find out where you stop / and where I begin.
You know I'm Counting the days, until I'm in your arms again
Baby Come home!
Chorus:
BRIDGE:
Let's take a walk in the park and stay till it's dark on a blanket under the tree, baby just you and me........
Chorus:
They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder.
How fond can this heart grow ... I wonder
Don't want to find out ... Baby ..... come home.
