Story Behind The Song
A true story when my husband and I were first together he baked me an apple pie, in this case using store bought crust, to make up after an argument.
Song Description
Role reversal of sorts, after a fight the man comes a knockin on the bathroom door where the woman has locked herself in and says, "You may not love me anymore but I just want to tell you, I'm baking you an apple pie."
Then she comes out and they 'Make up' ... baking us an apple pie becoming a double entendre.

Lyrics
We had a huge fight the other night
I can't remember what for
I locked myself in the bathroom
Sat cryin on the cold tile floor
I thought it was over that my love had gone a way
But he came knockin' and I heard him say
"You may not love me any more
But I just want to tell you
I'm baking you an apple pie.
He made the perfect flaky crust
And you know that is tough
He filled it with apples
Sweetened it with love
Put it in the oven
till it was golden brown
With that sweet sentiment brought the inside out
when HE said "You may not love me anymore
But I just wanna tell you
I'm bakin you an apple pie."
Bridge
Now some may say it's not masculine being in the kitchen.
I say it takes a real man, to do some good home cookin'.
So we're fixin us some home made love
Spiced up it's sweet because
We're makin it Up now after we've fought
puttin it together to enjoy while it's hot.
In love with each other, that's for sure.
Our hearts melt like butter when
We're baking us an apple pie.
We're baking us an apple pie.
