Story Behind The Song
I wrote this about a girl I was interested in at one point. We went out a few times, and I started to question how I felt about her. The first few lines comes from times where I'd find myself staring out the window in the general direction where she was (despite the fact that she was thirty miles away), wishing I could see her.
I contributed this song to the 1990 Billboard Song Contest, and it gained Honorable Mention recognition!

Lyrics
I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S LOVE
Words and music by Ray Kim
1: I am gazing back in the direction where you are,
Wishing that I could see your sweet face come smiling through...
I try to turn my thoughts toward tomorrow,
But I can't stop thinking about you...
You know, I feel like there is something I've gotta let you know,
But I don't even know what it is...
Chorus: I don't know if it's love that I'm feeling...
Think of you, and my mind starts believing...
I've got so many things to say,
But there's just no other way to tell you...
And if you were to leave me tomorrow,
Then I'll live through the pain and the sorrow...
There's a new dawn that I can see,
But there's always something there to remind me...
I can't let this feeling go...
If it's love, why don't you tell me so...?
2: Can you tell me why I keep thinking about you...?
Maybe it's because I'm so far away from home...
Is it 'cause I care so much about you,
Or is it 'cause I'm so God-damned alone...?
You know, a part of me says that I've gotta let you go,
But another part wants you even more...
Bridge: I've got to tell you how I feel; I can't believe you are for real...
You're everything I've been searching for so long...
But there's one thing I never knew; how can a girl as sweet as you
Could somehow still be so alone and free...
(To Chorus)
