Story Behind The Song
My friend is a strong country fan. I wrote this to sing at a get-together we were having. Wrote it on the Wednesday, sung it to several hundred people in a hotel on the following Saturday. My friend was supposed to play the harmonica to it, but he was too drunk.
Song Description
I just tried to capture the essence of passionate moments in otherwise empty lives.

Lyrics
THE COLD GREY DAWN WOULD WIPE AWAY THOSE LIES
I will never walk this road again, it's not my way to trek down memory lane.
And you may never get to know my name, I don't expect we'll see each other again.
But we should never say Goodbye, tonight we got to share our lonely lives.
And we don't need cheap alibis, the cold grey dawn would wipe away those lies.
I came into this windy one dog town, to find a sleeping beauty feeling down.
At a table drinking shots of Wild Turkey, we took the best of us, and set ourselves free.
We should never say Goodbye, tonight we got to share our lonely lives.
And we don't need cheap alibis, the cold grey dawn would wipe away those lies.
With the morning sun rising slow and feeling hot, I may look back to town, but maybe not.
Tomorrow is always calling, calling you, and you know I can't rest when this day is through.
We should never say Goodbye, tonight we got to share our lonely lives.
And we don't need cheap alibis, the cold grey dawn would wipe away those lies.
We should never say Goodbye, tonight we got to share our lonely lives,
And we don't need cheap alibies, the cold grey dawn would wipe away those lies.
The cold grey dawn would wipe away those lies.
The cold grey dawn would wipe away those lies.
