Lyrics
A CHILD BORN IN BETHLEHEM
They came from afar to Bethlehem, in a sacred but troubled land.
She carried a Saviour as yet unborn, and a promise of his kingdom at hand.
"No room at the Inn," the Keeper said. "The beds that we have are too few."
"Down in the alley, there're stables there. They'll do for people like you. Good enough, for people like you."
I offer my gift of peace and love, it flies on the wings of a pure white dove.
I give you the keys to all heaven above, in this moment of virgin birth, with a Saviour born to this earth.
As a star burned brightly in the night sky, Mary lay on a bed of just straw.
With sweet baby Jesus on her breast, and Joseph standing in awe.
Three Kings saw the stable and the baby in cloth, and they knelt by the animals' side.
As they offered their presents to the glory of God, baby Jesus saw them and cried.
So now as I stand in this Christmas hour, loving my God and feeling his power,
To think I owe all that I am, to a child born in Bethlehem, to a child born in Bethlehem.
