Story Behind The Song
We started writing this song in 2017. It is even more valid now, in 2020 as things haven't changed. We have hope that we can work together to make real progress in this country.
Song Description
People are marching in the streets. This song is an anthem of frustration and hope. The frustration is the situation we have in this country of racial inequality. We have a right and a responsibility to protest for change. The hope is that by working together we can achieve change because we are all in this together.

Lyrics
I hear the crowd roaring for a revolution
Gotta lot of talk but no solution
When you're white and you're poor you don't have a say
when you're black & you're poor you live in fear everyday
Enough's enough! Makes me wanna scream
I don't think this was the future of Dr. King's dream
I wrote this song in 2017
Makes me wanna scream, makes me wanna scream
It's an uphill battle but we gotta try
We're all in this together, no one gets out alive
It's an uphill battle, just to survive
Take a step together no one gets out alive
More mass shootings makin' you numb
Still they say, "don't take our guns"
C'mon man, ain't nobody stealin' your rights
You don't need an AK47 to sleep at night
"All lives matter" well I guess that's true
But only Black lives being taken when we turn on the news
Every Night another victim shot and killed
While old men argue on Capitol Hill
Old men argue on Capitol Hill
Capitol Hill, Capitol Hill
It's an uphill battle but we gotta try
We're all in this together, no one gets out alive
It's an uphill battle, just to survive
Take a step together no one gets out alive
We must resist we can learn to coexist
We must resist we will not be dismissed
We must resist we can learn to coexist
We must resist we will not be dismissed
Some kids are born in a world without choices
That doesn't mean they should have silent voices
They didn't ask to be born to a world that lacks
The ability to distinguish between fake news and facts
So go ahead and point your finger at me
As I put my fist up and get down on one knee
And exercise my 1st Amendment right to speak free
We kneel arm & arm in solidarity
Arm and arm in solidarity
Solidarity solidarity
We all gotta work together, for our future
Peace.
