Story Behind The Song
Lyrically, this is the most hopeful of the lot. Meyer adds a role-reversal twist to the fey "party boy afraid to commit to girl" scenario.
Song Description
This song is sung from point of view of a boy addressing a commitment-phobe girl. Though the girl is likely gunshy due to prior diysfunctional relationships, the boy reassures her his intentions are pure.
The term "Friday Girl" stems from the casual one night stand sort of encounter that the boy is trying to convince the girl to advance beyond.
Stylisitcally, the music harkens back to new romantic heroes like The Cars, Devo, New Order, etc.; as well as the latest wave of the movement's alt-rock incarnation like The Killers, The Bravery, She Wants Revenge, Ladytron, VHS or Beta, etc.

Lyrics
Friday Girl
Lyrics: Brent Meyer Music: Meyer/Willshire
Take a chance
on a new romance
give it half a chance to grow
On display
You dust off yesterday
Let?s live for today
and take it slow
Shine bright, tonight
First light, take flight
Fall through my arms, Friday Girl
Crawl through my charms, Friday Girl
You?re safe from harm, Friday Girl
Great divide
behind walls you hide
to keep the pain outside with me
You act so tough
I have to call your bluff
and tell you that you?re good enough for me
Shine bright, tonight
First light, take flight
CH2 sic.
Tonight, feels right
I?ll stay, you?ll stray
CH3 sic.
