Story Behind The Song
after seeing francis ford coppolas series about the blues on PBS i decided I needed a good old-timey blues song but with lyrics regarding my personal views on traditional religion and how it relates to modern life for me. We had to work really hard to make it sound and old and fucked up and that's what we did.

Lyrics
I read the words in the bible there wasn't nothin there for me (x2)
I don't believe in a God above and I'm full of apathy
I'm a cold blasphemer and I ain't afraid of wrath (x2)
Anytime I wanna be clean i just up and take a bath
well i'll take your catchism and place it right there at your feet (x2)
if you take your prostetlyzin' somewhere down the street
well my mama she gave me a bible said son you need to know
if you don't do what he tell you you bound to go uin the hole
if you don't tell me nothin you could leave poor fatty eddy alone
well i don't believe in the bible I'm going to hell and i don't care (x2)
well i see you when i get there I'll have you an ice cold beer
i don't believ in the word of the lord
i don't believe in the word of the lord
