Story Behind The Song

This song was a collaboration between Bernd and I written late at night on my boat in Parry Sound sometime in the summer/fall of 2011. The lyrics for the first 2 verses were written that night but we couldn't finish them. Bernd's wife Joanne put her creative touch to the tune a few months later and came up with the 2nd two verses. I polished the lyrics final when I recorded this version in 2014.

Song Description

This song is a look back on life. The image of Sand Castles represents the innocence of youth. The hope in the lyrics is that the innocence experienced in the past can be shared with the children coming behind us in the future.
