Lyrics

I Wouldn't Change A Thing
Ed Verner - Conrad Johnson © 2013

I see a woman at the red light minivan full of kids
She looks over at me and I realize who it is
My old flame, new last name, time has aged
And she's not the same

Down the road ain't what it seemed
And I am not where I dreamed
But I wouldn't change a thing
'Cause time is holdin' on to me

Saw my old hot rod in a field of rusted steel
Took me back to the days holdin' on to that steerin' wheel
Jammin' gears, drinking beer, with my friends
Too young to fear

And memories and busted dreams
And everything that's in between
Makes me feel so free
'Cause time she's not done with me

GREAT opening verse, sets the stage for the whole story song. My old flame with a new last name, great rhyme and word picture. Memorable hook. Good instrumentation, but the instrumentation sounded more pop than country to me. Keep up the good work; I definitely want to hear more. Personal comment: I would rather have God holding on to me than time.
