Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song out of sheer lonliness. It was my theme song throughout my mid-teens. It would have been my theme earlier...but I hadn't written it yet.
Song Description
It's worse not being noticed than being deliberately shunned. This song is about wishing for recognition, and upon getting it acting as though there was no reason you were a loner in the first place. Like every issue that pushed you into the corner (not feeling pretty enough, talented enough, popular enough) was never really there. I'm happy. I'm carefree.

Lyrics
Carefree
I wish I could change everything that I am
?so I could be my own best friend
and when I?d walk in a room everybody?d see me, everyone is looking my way
?come talk to the girl with the beautiful face
And I?d say?
Hey-ah, I?m happy, I?m carefree
Hey-ah, no I?m not deep, I won?t live a tragedy
I?m happy.
I?m carefree.
I wish I could change all the world around me now
I like my new sky, I like the new trees, I love the new song that the people sing
When I look all around, everybody?s smiling, everything is going their way
The sun would always shine, the clouds would never come, the sky would never rain down on me.
And I?d say?
Hey-ah?
