Lyrics

They Call The Wind Mariah

Away out here that got a name
for wind and rain and fire
the rain is Tess the fire is Joe,
and they call the wind Mariah

Mariah blows the stars around
and sends the clouds a'flyn'
Mariah makes the mountains sound
like someone's up there dyin'

Mariah, Mariah,
they call the wind Mariah

Before I knew Mariah's name
and heard her wail and whinin'
I had a man and he had me
and the sun was always shinin'

But then one day I left my man
I left him far behind me
and now I'm lost, so gaul darn lost
not even God can find me.

Mariah, Mariah,
they call the wind Mariah

Out here they got a name for rain
for wind and fire only
but when you're lost and all alone
there ain't no word but lonely

And I'm a lost and lonely gal
with out a star to guide me
Mariah blow my love to me
I need my man beside me

Mariah, Mariah,
they call the wind Mariah

Mariah, Mariah,
Blow my love to me

A beautiful interpretation of a timeless classic. Well sung and the production is top notch. Well done!

Remember when songs had colorful lyrics that told stories with similes and metaphors? "Mariah" brings that tradition back to life along with classical instrumentation and a soft quivering female vocal. The melody is lilting and unique, with a classic feel like that of "The Last Farewell" by Roger Whitaker.

Pretty Americana tune. Feels like it would work in a western film. The instrumental backing perfectly compliments the vocal. Well done!

Great cover of an old standard. All of the instrumentation was excellent! The vocal quality was top notch and fit this song perfectly. Great overall mix of vocal track to the instrumental tracks.

nice atmosphere here like angels singing on your shoulders

This is of course a very well known song and this is a lovely cover. The vocalist delivers the haunting, romantic ambience of the song. The arrangement too complements the song beautifully. Very well recorded.

The vocal is very very good. The musical arrangement is done very well. The recording is well done. I like this version of an old classic. I really enjoyed listening to it!!!

i liked this as soon as it started with the cool cellos rhythm
very nice vocals and arrangement. a almost operatic sweeping spender of a track and performance. very nice indeed

great cover of a very popular folk song...the arrangement was very creative...very strong emotional vocal...You did a great job tackling a standard and you made it your own...great production quality and musicianship...very professionally done...I hope this is successful for you on I-tunes and other internet sights...best of luck...

You always do such nice version of some of the classic song and you have done it again ...well done!! Especially enjoyed the second vocal coming in and out and sort of hiding among the other instruments.

hmmm lets see instruments are really good it felt like I'm in a movie or something!pretty cool.

Nice to hear this old chestnut! Perhaps this will make a revival of it.

Interesting cover of an old folk song. It's really hard to review a song like this because it's not your original work. You have a beautiful voice. The instrumentation is good, and the wind noise was a good addition.

Impressive reading of the song, great vocal performance. Interesting arrangement, faultless recording. Great string arrangement

I only had to listen to it once

Great track, very distinctive vocals and sweltering instrumentation to accompany. Great Job! Great Track!
