Story Behind The Song
Originally written as a duet between a person and God. However could be modified to be between boyfriend/girlfriend
Song Description
Co-writer and I were talking one day about how sometimes we feel like we're just barely holding on to our faith, but our definitions of "holding on" were different. Each of us wrote a different perspective on the verses but then we realized that God's definition of "holding on" would be different as well. While we try to "hold on" to our faith and trust in God, He is "holding on" to us as well.

Lyrics
I feel like I'm living on the edge
One more wrong step
And I'm falling off life's edge
I can't go back, the past is dead
So I will move forward
Put my trust in You instead
Chorus 1:
I'll hold on to you
I'll hold on to you
Lord, no matter where I am
I'll hold on to your hand
I'll hold on to you
Verse 2
Sometimes I can't hold back the tears
When I'm buried by
The landslide of fears
When the weight of the world has me down
I cling to Your promise
And stand on solid ground.
Chorus 1:
I'll hold on to you
I'll hold on to you
Lord, no matter where I am
I'll hold on to your hand
I'll hold on to you
Bridge 1:
Sometimes you seem so far away
(You know that I'm near)
Some days I can't see your face
(But I see you clear)
In times when all my strength is gone
(Mine's more than enough)
When I don't think I can carry on
Chorus 2:
I'll hold on to you
I'll hold on to you
No matter where you are
You'll be safe in my arms
I'll hold on to you.
Bridge 2:
I'm really not that far away
(I know You're near)
One day you'll see Me face to face
(I'll see You clear)
I'm not weak, but I am strong
(You're more than enough)
I'll carry you when you can't go on
Chorus 2:
Chorus 1:
I'll hold on to you
I'll hold on to you
No matter where I am
I'll hold on to Your hand
Tag: Dave
