Story Behind The Song
Based on a real experience. I broke up with my partner because I felt like I needed to be alone to figure out what I really wanted in a relationship. After some much needed time alone, I realized that I had it good with my partner and I let go of someone I love. Now I want to get back together with my ex and hope that he wants to get back together with me too.

Lyrics
It never hurt this much to cry
I know you'd love me forever
It's been a while since we said goodbye
Now my heart's heavier than ever
As much as it hurts
I just figured me out
I know I made it worse
I was breaking you down
Upset with myself
Had to lay it all out
I'd be happy alone
But I'm ready for us now
It was a wake up call
When I let you go
I know it took too long
But now I know
It's gonna take some patience
And honesty
Pushed you way back
My apologies
Wake up call
You picked up the phone
I feel bad for all your sleepless nights
You would've waited forever
It's been months since you let me inside
We know our hearts belong together
As much as it hurts
I just figured me out
I know I made it worse
I was breaking you down
Upset with myself
Had to lay it all out
I'd be happy alone
But I'm ready for us now
It was a wake up call
When I let you go
I know it took too long
But now I know
It's gonna take some patience
And honesty
Pushed you way back
My apologies
Wake up call
You picked up the phone
It was a wake up call
You picked up the phone
Maybe it's a fear of commitment
But this time, it's not what this is
No way I can resist it
You can have my all
Baby, it's a fear of commitment
But this time, it's not what this is
No way I can resist
'Cause we could have it all
It was a wake up call
When I let you go
I know it took too long
But now I know
It's gonna take some patience
And honesty
Pushed you way back
My apologies
Wake up call
You picked up the phone
It was a wake up call
You picked up the phone
