Story Behind The Song
The handwritten sheet music was given to me by a priest, and we perform it every year at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Immokalee, Florida. I have tried everything to find the author (the priest did not remember who gave it to him) and would love to give credit if I could just find them!
Song Description

Lyrics
GO OUT AND TELL MY PEOPLE
Author: Unknown
Arrangement Copyright 2010 Carlene Thissen
KEY = G
VERSE 1:
If you know, where they have laid him
Tell me that I may go, and take him away
He spoke to me: "Mary," ...... "Mary"
I answered "Master," and he said:
CHORUS:
Go out and tell my people I have risen
Go out and tell my people that I live
For I have walked before you, into Jerusalem
And I will walk with you into my Father's home.
VERSE 2:
I went out in search of His people
"I have seen the Lord I know that He lives.."
They could not believe me their hearts were troubled
As I spoke to them the words He spoke to me
CHORUS:
Go out and tell my people I have risen
Go out and tell my people that I live
For I have walked before you, into Jerusalem
And I will walk with you into my Father's home.
VERSE 3:
That evening He stood among us
As he spoke to us our hearts were at peace
Go out to the whole world and tell all creation
The message I have given you to day
CHORUS:
Go out and tell my people I have risen
Go out and tell my people that I live
For I have walked before you, into Jerusalem
And I will walk with you into my Father's home.
CODA:
And I will walk with you into my Father's home.
