Lyrics

THE FIRE NEVER DIED

VERSE (He:)
Front door slams, wipers slapping rain,
'Bout an hour north of town, here we go again.
I got mad, got loud, couldn't take no more,
'Cause we've been here so many times before.
Then I saw your face in the desert moon
On the road to Santa Fe,
And I swear I hear your voice calling me
From a hundred miles away.

CHORUS (They:)
It's still burning, blazing bonfire,
Burn forever through the night,
It's been blown by the wind, driven by the rain,
Rising from the ashes again and again.
The flame might have flickered,
But the fire never died.

VERSE (She:)
Go ahead and run, you stubborn man,
You'll be home by ten, 'cause here I am,
Staring at the fireplace, missing you.
You know we'll make up, we always do.
Seems we only fight so we can live
To love another day.
And I swear I hear your voice calling me
From a hundred miles away.

CHORUS (They:)
It's still burning, blazing bonfire,
Burn forever through the night,
It's been blown by the wind, driven by the rain,
Rising from the ashes again and again.
The flame might have flickered,
But the fire never died.

(He:) You make me crazy
(She:) I'm crazy 'bout you too
(They:) Nothing really matters, nothing really matters,
Nothing really matters without you.

CHORUS
(She:) It's still burning
(He:) Blown by the wind
(She:) Blazing bonfire,
(He:) Driven by the rain
(She:) Burn forever
(He:) Rising from the ashes
(She:) Through the night
(He:) Again and again and again
(They:) It's been blown by the wind, driven by the rain,
Rising from the ashes again and again.
The flame might have flickered, but the fire never died.
(He:) It was raging in my heart
(She:) Burning deep inside
(They:) Well the flame might have flickered,
But the fire never died.

TAG (They:)
The fire never, the fire never, the fire never died.
The fire never, the fire never, the fire never died.
