Lyrics
The Hot Dog Race
Two plump and juicy hot dogs lying on the grill,
One of them named Oscar, the other one was Phil.
Oscar said to Philip, "I'm the dog on top,
I bet you I will be the last to pop."
And he said "I can take the pressure, I can take the heat,
I can go the distance, I'm the dog to beat.
The temperature is rising in the danger zone,
I'm the top dog, hottest hot dog, turn the fire on."
Now Philip was a stranger, he came from parts unknown.
He said "Oscar, you're a weenie!" and the hot dog race was on.
Oscar started puffing, Phil began to sweat,
The last to bust a gut will win the bet.
And they said "I can take the pressure, I can take the heat,
I can go the distance, I'm the dog to beat.
The temperature is rising in the danger zone,
I'm the top dog, hottest hot dog, turn the fire on."
It was gonna be a photo finish, Oscar versus Phil.
I ran to get my camera and said, "Rover, guard the grill!"
When I came back my cookout was all scattered on the lawn.
Oscar, Phil and Rover all were gone, long gone.
No, I never did discover which hot dog won it all,
Rover got a lawyer, so he ain't gonna talk.
Phil and Oscar taught me, beware the hot dog race,
It's dog eat dog, especially for Type A's.
And they said "I can take the pressure, I can take the heat,
I can go the distance, I'm the dog to beat.
The temperature is rising in the danger zone,
I'm the top dog, hottest hot dog, turn the fire on.
I'm the top dog, hottest hot dog,
Turn the fire oh-oh-on, turn it on!"
