Story Behind The Song
Both my parents were professional vocalists when young. They married and began having children. The three oldest girls spent time on stage with Mom at the Irish/American club and watched Dad sing ballads like, "Danny Boy" beautifully. We also attended outdoor festivals where Mom sang songs like, "Let there be peace on earth" and "Put a little love in your heart". After Mom had several nervous breakdowns Dad was left divorced with 5 children,he tried to keep the family together, working in factories and barely getting my. He eventually lost the fight and the children were split up and put in foster care. Music was always a method of healing for me even before I realized I wanted to pursue it as a career. I would like to use my music to help others heal, follow their dreams and live out their legacy. KD
Song Description
Every family no matter how dysfunctional gives something of value to their children. If the parents fail to live out their dreams, there is always hope for future generations to carry it on.

Lyrics
His heart was heavy
With burdens on his mind
He wanted to pay attention
He wanted to give us time
Didn't have much money
He barely had a dime
But he came home with a painting
And he bound his heart to mine
Pre Chorus
It was a paint by number picture
Of Jesus in the Garden
And the photo of my mother
That kept my soul surviving
Chorus
The Legacy
(Dont you know that you helped me find my way)
They planted in me
(I believe that you did the best you could)
It helped me to see
(Now I know that you reap what you have sown)
What I was meant to be-eee
Verse 2
The photo told a story
Of a broken wounded life
She sang a simple song
And tears they filled her eyes
Baby on her lap
Two girls by her side
Somehow I think she knew that she'd be telling them goodbye
Pre Chorus
Chorus
Bridge
Broken Homes
Broken Hearts
Never lose what they impart
Live what they lost
And keep it alive
Pre Chorus
Chorus
End Chorus
The Legacy
(It's your legacy)
They planted in me
(And I say, Thank You)
It helped me to see
(I was blind, but now I see)
The Legacy
Yeah, your legacy
The Legacy
I was blind, but now I see
The Legacy
It's your legacy
The Legacy
