Nicely orchestrated...Ravel comes to mind....Haunting gypsyish sounding opening strings.. the thematic material is warm and beautiful...rhythm sometimes hangs as if suspended for the moment in the early minutes....again worked well and made for a grand but tamed entrance of your processional horns and percussion. The rise in the lower strings leading to the bassoon and bass clarinet jig duet was anticlimactic but effective. There is a trance like spirit to this piece..eerie. The melody is beautiful and weaves its way in and out of the piece skillfully.
