Nice playful opening with a slight military feel. Good use of dynamics; some strong brass playing combined with the repetitive percussion is very effective. There is a very strong theme running right through this piece which is very contagious and memorable. All in all a very enjoyable listen.
First off, I love to hear a good snare drum. NICE! And since I played in a fife & drum corp. as a kid, this piece genuinely got my attention. Very nicely done. Good combination of instrumentation, good dynamics and feeling of forward movement.
