CHASING THE DRAGON
Copyright 2003
Ben Goerner ,Tom Cadham, Al Murray, Dave Mitchell
I've been on the street now, it seems like a thousand years
Left a life of misery filled with dark shadows and fears
I met up with the dragon it soon devoured its prey
I was caught up in the cyclone, oblivious to what I'd pay.
The dragon took me downtown, he took me to the eye
Showed me legends and fairy tales, taught me how to fly
I'm chased by the dragon and I feel I'm gonna fall
And so an empty shell, I found a way to get by
Watching my world crumble with vacancy sign in my eye
The dragon he was hungry and devoured half of my soul
Turned to smoke and mirrors, I turned to a bottomless bowl
And now I track the dragon, relentless in the chase
Pursue him through my universe; you can see it on my face
I'm chasing the dragon I feel I'm gonna fall
(bridge)
I stumbled into shelter, I found a friendly smile
A heart of gold a hand to hold to cross that forbidden mile
I finally broke the dragon I am wary I am strong
And now he's just a memory just a legend in a song
(bridge2)
I'm still chased by the dragon although he is nothing more
Than a fleeting image of memories still the battle of evermore
He is waiting in every shadow he is waiting in every song
He is still the nemesis I'm still wary I am strong
I was chasing the dragon and I feel I'm gonna fall
Lord he took it all
such a long way to fall,
