In our lives, there exist people who only have their own interests at heart. People who only keep you around if it benefits them. They may use you to get to their next "fix", whether it'd be drugs, kinship with others in your group, or a relationship/fling they're chasing after. They may be the type of person that has to make you feel awful for them to feel better about themselves.If you were to voice these concerns they'll often be in denial, or try to flip it around to make you feel guilty for speaking out. "And our cries fall on deafened ears, so why should we bother / with your judgement clouded up by the snow and flaming water?" The 1st half of the 2nd verse mirrors what can be said by these kinds of people. "I have no malicious intentions" and similar phrases are said in repetition. They could be seen as Hollywood-grade actors, making manipulation and denial seem effortless. However, after a while they'll step on one too many people. Their self-destructive behaviors will continue, and worsen over time. People will get tired of this kind of person, and some will even retaliate against the offender. Over time, their connections are cut off. "But from below, our numbers grow / and when we attack, we'll give you something to fear!"
