Broken Dreams

Song Description

Picture an elderly Parisian woman in a quaint town. The sweet sound of the accordion player moves her to think about her life and life in general. The many heartaches from childhood days to her present lonely days.

Lyrics

Verse I

Broken dreams can happen to everyone
Broken dreams from childhood till life is done
These childlike dreams
Castles we may have built in the air
Come tumbling down
Just when we think life is rich and fair

Verse II

Children cry over a broken toy
Heartache comes to every girl and boy
Broken homes too
Love that is lost and grows cold
Those lonely hours you have to face when you're old

Beautiful song with a 1950's flavour. Love the vocal, the style and reverb give it a retro feel. Instrumentally, lots of very nice touches such as the piano runs, accordion and fiddle melodies. Fantastic sounding recording and production - everything sounds so rich and clear. Excellent work here.
