Story Behind The Song
I read about the "angel of death" in the paper, a hospital worker that was killing patients. I wrote this from the point of view of a patient who just narrowly escaped. The "angel" takes a high-dive off the high-rise, in other words, throws herself from the top floor of the hospital when she is discovered. Our patient isn't exactly sure of what's going on, or how to describe it. This is what fascinates me about lyrical storytelling from different points of view and perspectives. The patient would be drugged, so the explanation of events would be somewhat blurry, as I have tried to write here, without losing all focus of the song.

Leave It To Me
Lyrics and music c. Steve Waddington
There was a vision in a white dress
She held compassion in her hand
And with her halo over my eyes
She told me, soon, I'd understand
Leave It To Me, she said
I'll take care of just what you need
Don't breathe a word of this
I'll make it pass so painlessly
Just Leave It All To Me
Leave It All To Me...
I felt a fire move through my heart
The earth was black beneath my feet
And from the high-dive on the high-rise
A fallen angel hit the street
Leave It To Me, she said
I'll take care of just what you need
Don't breathe a word of this
I'll make it pass so painlessly
Just Leave It All To Me
Leave It All To Me...
Don't hold on to her...
