Story Behind The Song
While living on South Beach, Florida I became aware of a friend of mine having AIDS, when I had to carry him to his partners car while he was unconscious and convulsing to be rushed to the hospital. I was deeply impacted by the sadness and horror of the situation, and immediately wrote this song that night.

Lyrics
say did you stop to watch the comet
or did he pass you by like a flash and a blur of light
didn't seem to me that his curtain was coming down
and the comet was heading on
take away all your faith and your fate, your meant to be
you pack them off in a box, stamped reality
all your should of, could of, would of might I've know
that the comet was heading on
Say did you stop to watch the comet
did it pass you by
say did you stop to watch the comet
did it pass you by
twisting and turning on a moment
are all our hopes and dreams just hopes and dreams just schemes
didn't occur to me that now just turned to then
and the dimmer snuffed another friend
take away all your faith and your fate, your meant to be
pack them off in a box stamped reality
all your should of and could of, would of might I'd known
that your comet was heading on
