Story Behind The Song
While recording/mixing our CD, I gave copies of the demos to the band members to eval, with specific instructions to NOT give it out to others. Within minutes I witnessed the bass player giving out copies to bar patrons. I was livid, and this song came out. When I played it for them at next practice, the lyrics were general enough that they thought I was mad at my husband. :-)
Song Description
Simple reminder that protagonist only allows "two strikes" before walking away without retaliation, and one strike's just been counted.

Lyrics
When it comes to stickin' around I've just a simple rule;
Nothing really too profound: Don't play me like a fool.
If once-told, it's a thousand-fold And you chose to ignore.
And in this game 2 Strikes & I'm Out and I've got One Foot Out The Door
I ain't no big control freak -- really, do what you will
But I'll be gone by yesterweek if you think me an imbecile
Keep my trust or I'm a cloud of dust with no need to underscore
In this game 2 Strikes & I'm Out and I've got One Foot Out The Door
Do what you want -- I won't haunt. Won't even the score with a 2x4
No attorney-at-law for your non-faux-pas Will be No Doubts on my Non-abouts
When it comes to stickin' around I've just a simple rule;
Nothing really too profound: Don't play me like a fool.
If once-told, it's a thousand-fold And you chose to ignore.
And in this game 2 Strikes & I'm Out and I've got One Foot Out The Door
and I've got One Foot Out The Door (Won't see me no more)
and I've got One Foot Out The Door ((if) you choose to ignore)
and I've got One Foot Out The Door ((what) we discussed before)
and I've got One Foot Out The Door[!]
