Story Behind The Song
I did a lot of traveling on short notice, sometimes turning right around after landing home the previous night. My house is on a hill, and I'd use public transportation from the airport, and walk home from the local trolley stop, dragging the rolling suitcase with me up the hill.
Song Description
After a long period away traveling "slaying modern day dragons" the singer works his way back home.

Lyrics
I'm Half of a World Away
Dead tired and disengaged
I Wish I Were Home.
Hotel Rooms and SkyLines
Are my View Most Times
I can't Wait 'Til I'm Home.
The Countless Miles
It's going to Be a While
'Til I Get Home.
And Now I am in a New Place
the last in the latest ukase,
Then I'm On My Way Home!
The Countless Miles
It's going to Be a While
'Til I Get Home.
Now I Hear the Husky's "Ra-Ra-Roo"s
There are no Clearer Clues
I'm Minutes From Home.
Just Up One Last Hill
My body Knows the Drill
and I've Made It Back Home!!
The Countless Miles
Made it a While
'Til I Got Home.
And Now Being Here with You
Fades those Dragons I Slew.
It's Great To Be Home!
The Countless Miles
Made it a While
'Til I Got Home.
