Very commercial sounding however from another generation. That is not a bad thing. You may want to turn this into a Country tune. I'm thinking it was written a while ago but it definately has a Country flair to it. Lyric is well contructed, vocals are perfect for the song, the instrumentation and arrangement though a 60's or 70's feel still well conceived.
I enjoyed this tune. Reminds me of Gary Puckett and the Union Gap.
