Story Behind The Song
my friend Arlene was heading to Iraq the next day i was writing a song. i had the first 4 lines but the heartbreak of those lines only lasted the length of time it took to write them. she told me that there are a large number of suicides among the military upon returning and somebody should write about it. so i did - i imagined what if it was not fleeting - that feeling where this song started then it all came flooding in - my hope is to inspire healing - life may be hard but the alternative may be unbearable -

at first it seems like a love gone wrong song then the hero emerges. he is unable to reconcile his shattered feelings - unwanted - as he returns from the war. meanwhile there are many who are waiting to embrace him - but he is in another realm now and will never know - the only thing he does know is that he cant stop the pain. -perspective-
